Catherine Hill Bay is the oldest existing village in the Lake Macquarie area, just one hour North of Sydney. Torodes cottage is the old Catherine Hill Bay Community Hospital transformed by stunning renovation into a comfortable holiday retreat. The cottage is located across the road from one of the finest surfing beaches on Australia's eastern seaboard.


THE SURROUNDING AREA
Catherine Hill Bay is one of Australia’s original mining villages and surrounded by native bush land, which offers great walks.

It's a short stroll to local pub and bowling club, where meals are provided. A supermarket, newsagent, bakery, restaurants, cafes, video, bank, and post office are all just a 10-minute drive away in Swansea.

Catherine Hill Bay beach is patrolled with designated flags for protected swimming. There is a choice of beach or rock fishing, as well as excellent surf spots. Surrounding bush land provides beautiful nature walks.

Only 10 minutes drive from Lake Macquarie which is Australia’s largest salt lake and greater in size than Sydney Harbour
